Imagine yourself, being a black young man, living in London and having to move outof your home because of racist acts. And that the small town you just moved in is even more racist and dangerous ?

This is the story of Cornelius Walker, whose life was disrupted by an horrific event : the killing of a black kid, about his age, in a London street in 2000.As a result, he and his family moved out for their safety. They are now living surrounded by racism violence and insults in a smaller town. Even though he is the target of discriminations because of his skin color, Cornelius still wants to fit in, but what is the price to pay to become friend with the monsters in front of you ? Maybe being one ?

This testimony makes you sad, upset or both at the same time while Cornelius talks about his true story. A movie directed by Ed Perkins and an Oscar-nominated documentary that i invite you to watch, to learn about a society hidden but still ou there.

Tomorrow is a documentary film made by Cyril Dion and Mélanie Laurent. It was

released in 2015.

 

 

 

 

Our class saw  part of it last Wednesday, and we then discussed the film in class.

Here's our summary:

 

This movie was shot after both of them heard of studies about climate change,

destruction of the earth surface and population growth. Mélanie being pregnant

got worried for her child and started asking herself questions : ‘’What world is my son

going to live in ?’’ ‘’Is there a way we can avoid this situation ?’’.

As a result, with their influence as French actors and film makers they decided to

share alternatives to solve this very important problem.

 

Here are  some examples of solutions they found around the world :

 

-Make permaculture instead of agrobusiness ( which is using big machines,

spraying  pesticides etc...) Permaculture is simply using all the plants’ specificities to grow

other plants such as : planting basil   

 at the foot of  tomatoes, thanks to the smell of basil,

the bugs stay away from the tomatoes.

                                          OR

- In San Francisco, the town recycles and composts all the inhabitants’ waste.

 

The common point to all of those people is that they are writing a new story by creating

a healthier and more eco-friendly lifestyle. 

And as a conclusion, all those persons show us that this is not too late if we give

everything we’ve got and join our forces together, we could change the world, and make

tomorrow less scary.

The movie  

·         The director is Bill Condon.

·          The cast is composed of :

           -Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen)

           -Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan)

           -Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black)

           -Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen)

·       This movie was released on November 16th 2011, it lasts 1 hour and 57 minutes.

·         It's an action and science-fiction film but it's also a love story.

·         A vampire and a human get married  and they leave for an island on their honey moon . Then,  Bella (she’s human) gets pregnant and her baby is half vampire, half human. A vampire-human baby is very dangerous for his mother because, he needs some blood so he eats Bella from inside her, he grows up very fast and he is very strong. When she gives birth, her baby bites her, and she dies but Edward changes her into a vampire.

 

Our  favourite character is Jacob (Taylor Lautner), because he is a famous actor and he is very handsome and strong.  

My favourite scene is Edward and Bella's wedding because the family's speeches are not very well prepared, and the speakers are ridicoulous.

 I think it's good because there is a little action and the actors are beautiful but they don’t smile enough and the film is too mawkish. It lacks energy.

Sumarry:

I think:

It's one of the greatest horror films I saw. The beginning of the film is really boring but when the first monster appears and the protagonist lock  themselves up  in their house it becomes really scary.Someone under the house handles the 5 friends. One girl among the 5 friends die. Her boy friend warns the others and he tries to go out of the woods but they can't.The manipulator has planned everything.  

                                                                                                                                                                                                   It's really strange but when I saw this film, I was so  frightened that I could not follow the full story .
